" 'Competitions of great importance to the fundamental industry of this country are held annually by the Ontario Plowmen's Association,' reads the first intertitle of this film about the 8th annual plowing match, held in Hamilton in 1920. The viewer is shown a general view of the grounds, and then shots of the procedures followed by the plowmen: making scratch, the first heavy round and forming the crown. A shot of a field shows many horse-drawn ploughs at work while a large crowd looks on. Attention is also paid to demonstrations of tractor-drawn ploughs, particularly those with two or three furrows. The Honourable F. C. Biggs, Minister of Public Works, presents some prizes."
