"The Eldorado mine, the world's largest deposit of uranium in 1930, played a key role in the development and manufacture of the atomic bomb. The film documents (using original FTG and photographs) the discovery of the mine in 1929 by the Labine brothers through to the acknowledgement by the President of the United States of Canada's contribution in producing the 'A' Bomb."

"A chronology of the events leading to the production of radium and uranium in Canada during the 1930s and 1940s. The film discusses the extensive role played by Canadians as explorers, scientists, and administrators in the pioneering days of nuclear reactive centres on work at the Eldorado mining centre on Lake Athabaska, and the crude refining mill at Port Hope, Ontario."
