"Documentary short on current trends in Canadian architecture presented by Canadian architect-writer, Barbara Lambert. Introduced with archival pictures of Ottawa, the film takes a look a some specific examples of Canadian architecture including: the Parliament Buildings and National Arts Centre; a new igloo-shaped school in Frobisher Bay; 'The Hub', a student housing facility at the University of Alberta; and the Highlands apartment complex in Ottawa. Lambert discusses social aspects of town planning and architecture, and explains how architects can bridge the gap between old and new, past and present. Environmental aspects of architecture are also touched on, with footage of cedar homes in British Columbia and fishing villages in the Maritimes."
