" The new growth and awareness of boys and girls at ten, eleven, and twelve. Difficult to distinguish between traits of the age and the individual personality. At ten, boys like rough clothes, tough talk, and sports. Girls do better schoolwork, are eager to please. At twelve, they talk a great deal and readily evaluate others. Points out differences in personality and physical development at each age."

"Film to assist parents in understanding ten to twelve-year-old children by analyzing the behaviour of a specific group of children. Commentator notes the range in physical and personality development rates in this age group. A group of 10, 11 and 12-year-old boys are described and both individual and generic traits arise. A group of girls are analyzed in the same manner . Focus centers on a family with a 12-year-old son, a 12-year-old daughter and an 11-year-old son. Through the activities, attitudes and relationships of the children we receive a picture of typical prepubescent behavior. Through the parents' attitudes and disciplinary measures, an instructive picture of the difficult but pleasurable processes of child rearing is presented. A party for the group of children concludes the film by showing the developing social graces, maturity and individuality of the children. Commentator concludes the film by noting the necessity of parents to recognize the individual development and talent of the prepubescent child."

"Quite far removed from infancy, yet not across the threshold of adolescence, children of ten to twelve present an absorbing study of adults-in-the-making. We watch the children of one family in various situations in the home, at school and in group play, and find that much of their conflicting behavior is actually a normal part of the growing-up process."
