Actors and Participants:
University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario: 16mm, digital, DVD.
"THE WATERLOO TRIP was designed as promotional material for the University of Waterloo to be used by the Secondary School Liason Officer for presentation in Ontario high schools. The film includes exterior scenes of most campus buildings photographed in each season, and it presents a collage of student activities, mostly non-academic. Cultural activities include a Fine Arts display, theatre productions, and a Ravi Shankar concert. Academic activities include an Integrated Studies council meeting and scenes of Psychology and Engineering laboratories. Social activities include a rock concert, a summer picnic, and a beer drinking contest. The film is notable for its use of the 'Chapman Technique,' a multi-image technique employed by C. Chapman in the film A PLACE TO STAND shown at the Ontario Pavilion of Expo '67."
