"Documentary on General Motors of Canada consisting of: production from the Oshawa plant; manufacture of the composite wooden and steel car bodies at the Fisher Body Plant; the textile companies which provide the interiors; the process of the Duco spray painting system for car bodies. Footage includes: an opening aerial shot of the Oshawa Plant plus a great deal of footage devoted to the depiction of workers performing their jobs, arriving and departing from work. The second part consists of factory shots: a drill press; the Keller Die Maker; examples of automation in the workplace; examples of the amount of steel needed for annual production, comparison to the amount of steel needed in the manufacture of the Quebec Bridge; overhead pan shot of the interior of the factory, observing each station of production i.e. bumpers, fenders, etc.; nickel plating process involved in the production of radiators; the assembling of the Harrison radiator; women working in the factory preparing the brass for the radiators; electrical wiring and gasoline pipeline assembly; rear and front axle assembly; final assembly of the automobile in an assembly-line; and all of the inspections that go along with the manufacture. The filming then moves out of the factory onto the oval racetrack where the cars are tested and then shipped to all parts of the globe. Shots of crated cars on the way to the Far East as well as train loading for domestic delivery. The film closes with examples of all the hood ornaments of the General Motors vehicles which are manufactured at the Oshawa plant: Cadillac V8 ; LaSalle; Buick; Oakland; Pontiac; and Chevrolet."
