"This film uses intertitles and animated drawings and models to explain the different positions of the Earth and Sun and their subsequent effects. Topics shown include: the earth's elliptical orbit around the sun; the orientation of the earth's axis in relation to the sun and the North Polar Star; the illumination of the different sections of the earth at different times of day and year; the position and significance of the Equator, Tropic of Capricorn, Tropic of Cancer, Arctic and Anarctic Circles; the orientation of the earth, in relation to the sun, during the different seasons. The film's last animated drawing shows that the distance between the earth and the sun varies over the course of the year."
