"The film examines some of the teaching methods used at the Learning Centre of the Montreal Children's Hospital. While certain learning disabilities limit specific skills - i.e. a child speaks well but reads poorly, or is great in arithmetic but cannot speak well - each teacher at the Learning Centre combines as many disciplines as possible into each activity. While the techniques of phonetic reading may be quite specialized, the concepts in the material being read are perhaps related to space or time and thus are difficult to separate from arithmetic. Arithmetic is taught not only with blocks or rods, but in conjunction with motor training on the trampoline. Language, verbalization of activities, accompany the activity."
