"Gander River, Newfoundland, not far from Gander International Airport, has some of the most challenging Atlantic salmon pools on the Atlantic seaboard. This film not only shows good fishing but includes a fine demonstration of fly-casting as a teenage boy learns from an experienced guide how to choose his lures and how to lay in a fine silvery salmon with the skill of a veteran."

"For a lad of 14 there is no greater thrill than catching his first fish. Gander River provides the site for this film story."
