"The expanding economy of Ontario demands increased power resources, and this film shows the Ontario Hydro Commission's vast project for providing more electricity for the province. An animation sequence gives a detailed explanation of how water from the Niagara River, above the falls, is diverted to the powerhouse six miles downstream. Also shown are the scale models which were used to solve many engineering problems. Work on the project began in 1951 and will not be completed until '56. The film shows the enormous amount of organization and planning needed to accomodate a labor force of 6,000 with the necessary health, recreational, feeding and living facilities."
