"The new headquarters building of the Bell Telephone Company of Canada, rises into the sky of Montreal on historic Beaver Hall Hill - a temple of communication. In January 1928 the steam shovels were cutting deep into the earth. The film is entirely devoted to recording the actual construction of the building. There are no interior scenes nor shots of telephone apparatus. The main sequence of the film (from 377 feet to 732 feet) is comprised of an extensive single-image animation sequence, which gives the impression of time-lapse photography showing the building's construction. The final shot is filmed from an aeroplane with the 320 foot building towering above the surrounding neighbourhood."
