"A look at China 'the ancient'. Footage includes: a very busy Chinese city gate with vendors on foot, citizens, rickshaws, peking carts, ox and donkey drawn wagons, men pushing wheelbarrows, and donkeys drawing wheelbarrows; a Chinese Mandarin caravan escorted by body guards; five men pulling a plough with another guiding it from the rear; two women cranking a wheel at a well and drawing water into buckets; blindfolded donkeys operating a grindstone which grinds grain; a Chinese man in front of a house handmixing the contents of a bowl; a Chinese woman winnowing grain in a field; a begger killing fleas between his fingernails; a young Chinese girl, in traditional costume, bowing in front of the camera; and a little Chinese boy, dressed in winter clothing, begging from the cameraman."
