"The story focuses on two women, one a writer, one a freelance graphic artist. Neither has money and one of them decides to take a job as a sales clerk to help make ends meet. She thinks the job will be easy. By observing Miss Robbins, the best saleslady in her department, she soon realizes there are definite techniques which improve sales performance. Each evening she returns to tell her room-mate what she has learned by watching Miss Robbins in the store. By the end of the film, she makes her first big sale, as a result of what she has learned. The transaction has also given her an idea for a short story to write."
