"A look at the Nootka Indians of West Vancouver Island, their village, and their natural surroundings. Footage shows women weaving baskets, hats, capes, and fish traps; hanging and cleaning fish; digging for clams; demonstrating the drum and rattle; and dancing to a drum. Men are seen making and paddling Nootka canoes. An elder starts a fire with stick and board. Also shown: children playing a dice-like game; a silver smith; a man with slingshot; another wearing a nose ring; the Indians displaying their high cheek-bone feature; and shots of a totem pole and a mural painting."
