"This film follows an actual patient through his diagnosis and discussions with the surgeon, the diagnostic procedures, the staff conference deciding on his treatment and assessing the role of smoking in a variety of diseases, his pre-operative conditioning, his actual operation for the removal of a lung, the exposure of the cancer in the excised lung, and his awakening in the recovery room. A very human film, a strong indictment by medical men of smoking as a general health risk. Shot on location at the Royal Edward Chest Hospital, Montreal."
