"The history behind the design and building of a new bridge across the harbour at St. John, New Brunswick. With the help of a computer analysis of the traffic surveys which were carried out, the bridge route was decided, close to the old alignment recommended by engineers for over 130 years. The film uses photographs of old St. John to show how transportation problems have developed in this city divided by its own harbour, and the necessity for the proposed bridge. The construction project itself is described in detail showing the many difficulties which had to be overcome before the long-awaited St. John Harbour Bridge could be completed."
