"An illustration of the importance of international trade and how freer trade effects the economies and standards of four countries: Switzerland, Nigeria, Venezuela and Canada. The film features each country and a brief analysis of their imports and exports. Switzerland, famous for chocolate, cheese and watches, also exports printed textiles, machinery and provides international banking. Nigeria exports oil, cattle, rubber, palm oil and cocoa beans. Marketplaces are shown filled with imported goods. Venezuela, known for bullfighting and traditional Spanish dancing, as the film shows, exports 'grade' cocoa used to make the finest chocolate. Canada's exports include pulp and paper, fresh water, hydro capacity and aluminum products. Urban centres including Zurich, Lagos, Caracas, Montreal and Toronto are shown. 'Canadians ... leaders among the nations of the world in promoting peace and understanding ... Understanding comes from knowledge, and knowledge comes from exchange ... of friendship, of ideas, and of goods.'"
